Your Host: Dr Jan Taplin

Starting at age 5, Jan spent time with her aunt Marley who was dying of a brain tumor.  Jan and her sister read to her aunt and helped her ambulate through the house.

As a young child, Jan loved spending time visiting with her great aunts.  She chose to pursue a degree in Social Work and got into a career in caregiving after graduation.  She worked with clients that had spinal cord injuries, MS, Cerebral Palsy to name a few.

She worked a short time as a Case Manager for Elder Care Services prior to returning to college to become a chiropractor.  She spent 8 years helping people heal naturally with diet, exercise, positive attitude and spinal adjustments.

In 2018, she and her husband moved to Tucson, where she returned to caregiving.  She has worked for several agencies over the years and has been displeased at the way they operate. Jan and her husband Bob launched A+ Elder Care Assistance in November of 2022.  Both Bob and Jan were present when each of their own parents passed away.

They are proud of their two adult daughters, and have no grandchildren.  This is why you might hear them say  “we are the sandwich generation, with no bread”.  Their time is devoted to providing excellent care to the elders in our community.
